With over 11 years of surfing experience and 6 years of professional coaching, Ari Engel has established himself as one of San Diego's most dedicated surfers and respected surf coaches.
Ari first gained recognition throughout the surfing community in 2017 when, at just 14 years old, he completed an incredible 509 surf sessions in a single calendar year. Surfing before and after school — often multiple times a day — he developed an unmatched work ethic and became a familiar face at the La Jolla Reefs and other premier San Diego breaks.
Today, Ari is a highly competitive surfer, professional coach, and entrepreneur based in San Diego, California. As a premier coach, he has helped surfers of all ages and skill levels improve their technique, confidence, wave selection, and ocean awareness through private coaching, seasonal clinics, travel camps, and high-performance training.
Beyond coaching, Ari serves as the CEO of Wavelink Surf, where he continues to contribute to the growth of the surfing community through innovation, mentorship, and athlete development.
